Triskelion pendant

$850.00

The triskelion or triskele, from Greek, meaning “three legs”. The triskelion is found across cultures, and is often associated with the Celtic culture, though its use predates them.

Often including 3 spirals in a clockwise direction, this particular design is taken from a copper artefact found in England, likely of Roman making, and includes more trumpet like features.

The triskelion meaning is debated, but one understanding is the three branching from one are symbolic of three worlds - present/physical, spirit/ancestors, and celestial/elements.

Carved from a deep gooey green pounamu with some flower patterning. Glows brilliantly in the light.

Measures 52mm in diameter.

New Zealand Jade.
